If you want to be on the Skydiving Committee for 10/11, then write your name on the forum, with a bit about why you want the position, voting Wednesday 10th, 8pm, Nicola's house (1 Burleigh Road)

Positions Available:

Chairman:

The main role of the Chairman is to oversee the running of all aspects of the Club. They have to know the ins and outs of how the club works and be able to advise the committee on what to do while leading the committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole club. They will be the main point of contact for liaison with the AU and as such will have to attend AU Training Events and be at all meetings of the Club committee and ensure that they are properly conducted. They will also be incharge of the competions side of the club ensuring all members know about competitions that are happening and encouraging them to take part at any level

Secretary

The secretary is in charge of the general organisation of the club. The main role will be booking in the RAPS and AFF courses as well as general liason with Dropzones. They will also be in charge of keeping records of progression within the club and have a strong role in supporting members with any questions or help they may need. They will work closely with the chairman to ensure the club is running as it should be and always heading in the right directions.

Treasurer

The treasure is in charge of the finance of the club. They have a large number of responsabilitys including:

· Keep the Club's accounts in order, in line with AU policy

· Act as the Club's signatory for any cheques

· Apply for any grants that the Club may require

· To ensure that the annual grant application form is completed in conjunction with the committee and handed back to the AU by the deadline.

· To work closely with the club chairman and AU Finance Officer to ensure that invoices are received and paid on time

They will also be the BCPA co-ordinator insuring all of Loughborough’s achievements and compitions entries are submitted on time

Social Sec

The social sec main job is to organise regular socials while monitoring their attendance and listening to members to see what can be done to improve them. They will also be incharge of publicty for the club doing things such as creating flyers for freshers fair and creating stash for the club

Objective (1 and only) we need more people! Especially those with boobies... could next year be that year?!

I've got pretty good organisational skills and think that I'll do a good job of inspiring interest for the club at the fair. Short and Sweet.

I've got a few jumps under my belt too!

I would like to put myself forward for the position of Social Sec.

I want this position as I feel I can make a positive impact on the social side of the club. I have no real experience of being a social sec however I am a very social person and see myself as a great party organiser. Expect plenty of fancy dress and messy drinking games if you vote for me.
In terms of creating flyers etc. I am reasonably proficient with photoshop and as a product designer have a keen I for design and appealing logos etc. So the image of the club would be in good hands.

I'm going to stop there as I dont want to sound too much like a tosser...
Ultimately if you know me you'll know I'm very keen on skydiving and the success of the club overall and socially. If you dont know me then I'm very keen on skydiving and the social side of the sport.

A vote for me is a vote for you! haha

why? cos if you dont vote for me i'll eat your children and if you dont have children i'll eat you. on more serious note i would like to be chair again as i feel i could continue to develope the club and help it grow. i would put alot of working into helping people get into the bcpa competitions aswell bringing in as many new people as i could and encouraging them to stay with the sport. i will continue to find ways of subsidings costs making it easyer to progress

i wont go on with much more at the moment but if anyone has anything they would to know just ask

H 4 Secretary

Im only a sweet innocent little fresher....... but I am applying to be the secretary because I feel I would be good in an admin & support type roll and want to help the club grow bigger and better. At the moment I hold an operational management position with 644 Gliding Squadron (RAF Volunteer Reserves) where I am also a qualified gliding instructor; there are a lot of deadlines and military standards to adhere to so I am more than capable of holding this type of post.

I will have a lot of time to commit as let’s face it; I don’t do a real degree so can push things forward and get them done quickly and efficiently. Plans for the club include developing online resources; maybe a website where users can register, login and update records, check contact details, etc.... Media communications and advertising are also another key area so spreading the word about the club and creating more of a presence; maybe working with the possible new social sec to get a brand going??

Starting to sound like a job application so im gonna stop......
